ACTIVE CONTAINERS

Mile Express Transport provides dedicated transportation and specialized handling support for active temperature-controlled containers, including RKN and RAP units used for pharmaceutical, biologic, clinical trial, Cell & Gene Therapy, and other temperature-sensitive healthcare shipments.

Active containers require more than transportation alone. Our team understands the importance of proper unit setup, temperature programming, battery monitoring, dry ice monitoring where applicable, and careful handling throughout the shipment journey.

When required, Mile Express can set up and program active containers according to customer-provided shipment requirements before transport. During transit, our team can monitor the unit's operational status and escalate any concerns immediately to the customer.

• RKN & RAP Transportation – Dedicated transportation of active temperature-controlled containers from pickup through final delivery. 
• Container Setup & Programming – When required, our team can set up and program the unit according to customer-provided temperature and shipment requirements. 
• Battery Level Monitoring – Battery status can be checked throughout the shipment journey to help ensure the container remains operational. 
• Dry Ice Monitoring – For active container models utilizing dry ice, levels can be monitored and replenishment coordinated or performed when required. 
• Temperature & Unit Status Checks – Available container displays and operating information can be checked during transportation and reported according to customer requirements. 
• Airport Recovery & Delivery – Active containers can be recovered from airline cargo facilities and transported directly to the consignee or other designated location. 
• Container Return – Following delivery, Mile Express can transport empty RKN and RAP containers to the airline, station, warehouse, or other customer-designated return location. 
• Documentation & Communication – Container condition, battery status, temperature information, dry ice status, and other required information can be documented and communicated throughout the shipment.

When requested, Mile Express can assist with preparing and programming RKN and RAP containers for transport, including entering customer-provided temperature settings and confirming the unit is operating as expected before departure.

During transportation, our team can perform scheduled checks of battery levels, temperature displays, alarms, and dry ice levels where applicable. Any abnormal reading, alarm, low battery condition, or other concern is immediately escalated so the customer can provide instructions before further action is taken.

Mile Express can support the active container throughout its transportation cycle, from setup and programming, pickup and dedicated transportation, monitoring and delivery, through the return of the empty container to its designated location.

Our role is to provide experienced handling and transportation while following the customer's instructions and the applicable operating procedures for the specific container being used.
