REPLENISHMENTS

Mile Express Transport provides specialized replenishment and servicing support for temperature-controlled pharmaceutical shipping systems, including dry ice, refrigerated 2–8°C, frozen, cryogenic, and active temperature-controlled packaging.

Temperature-sensitive shipments do not always move exactly as planned. Flight delays, customs holds, extended transit times, missed connections, or unexpected operational issues can require packaging to be inspected, replenished, reconditioned, or transferred to maintain the validated performance of the shipping system.

Our team has hands-on experience working with a wide range of pharmaceutical packaging and active container systems, including RKNs, RAPs, LN₂ dry shippers and dewars, Pelican BioThermal systems, CoolGuard packaging, Credo Half Stack and Full Stack systems, World Courier GDI/GTC packaging and Cocoons, Intelsius systems, CCTS/BYK boxes, and other specialized temperature-controlled packaging.

• Dry Ice Replenishment – Dry ice can be sourced and replenished according to customer instructions, including at airline cargo facilities, after airport recovery, during extended transportation, or prior to final delivery. 
• 2–8°C Packaging Servicing – Refrigerated shipping systems can be inspected and serviced using appropriately conditioned gel packs or phase-change materials supplied or specified by the customer. 
• Frozen Packaging Support – Frozen shipping systems can be inspected and replenished according to the specific packaging configuration and customer SOP. 
• LN₂ Dry Shipper Support – Mile Express can transport and monitor LN₂ dry shippers and, when necessary and authorized, transfer product into a new, properly conditioned dry shipper. Mile Express does not replenish LN₂ dewars with liquid nitrogen. 
• RKN & RAP Support – Active containers can be set up and programmed when required, with battery level, temperature status, alarms, and dry ice levels monitored where applicable. 
• Cocoon & Specialized Packaging Servicing – Our team is familiar with servicing and handling larger pharmaceutical shipping systems, including Cocoons and other specialized temperature-controlled packaging. 
• Pelican, CoolGuard & Credo Systems – Experience includes Pelican packaging, CoolGuard systems, Credo Half Stack and Full Stack configurations, and other reusable pharmaceutical shipping systems. 
• Emergency Product Transfer – When authorized by the customer, product can be transferred from a compromised or expiring shipping system into another properly prepared and conditioned shipping system.

Replenishment is more than simply adding dry ice or replacing gel packs. Before servicing a shipment, our team can inspect the packaging, verify shipment information, review available temperature data, document the condition of the shipping system, and confirm the customer's instructions before proceeding.

Whenever possible, replenishment and servicing are performed in an appropriate temperature-controlled environment to minimize exposure of the payload and packaging components to extreme ambient conditions.

Before-and-after photographs, dry ice quantities, seal information, temperature readings, packaging condition, and other required information can be documented according to the customer's SOP.

Mile Express can perform replenishment services as part of an airport recovery or while a shipment is at an airline cargo facility, when operationally permitted.

For shipments remaining under Customs control, Mile Express will not open or manipulate the shipment until the required authorization has been obtained. Once properly authorized, our team can perform the requested servicing according to the customer's instructions and document the work performed.

Every validated shipping system has different operating and replenishment requirements. Mile Express does not assume that one procedure applies to every container.

Our team follows the customer's SOP, packaging instructions, temperature requirements, and authorization process for each shipment. If an unexpected condition is identified, the issue is escalated before further action is taken.

Whether it is re-icing a dry ice shipment, replacing conditioned gel packs, servicing a Cocoon, monitoring an RKN or RAP, handling a CoolGuard or Credo system, or coordinating an emergency transfer into a conditioned dry shipper, Mile Express provides the experienced handling, documentation, and communication required for critical pharmaceutical shipments.
